Kinja'd!!!

I saw a thing today.

I’m driving it (or one of its brethren) on Saturday.

I’m actually really excited. I’m admittedly biased, as I have a 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring, but holy crap I want one! I didn’t even feel this way about the then-new XC90!

Is it a new CX-9?

Yep! Didn't have a good angle (hilly lot and wet ground behind it) for more photos and different views.

I think Mazda really nailed their corporate grill on this one. It’s such a great front end blend of entry upscale, sport and aggressive.

Damn, that kind of reads like a brochure.

Aren’t they stunning?

Thoroughly. I was more impressed with this tall wagon than the Aventador (or maybe it was a Huracan?) roadster that was behind me for a few minutes shortly after.

You’re quite right. It feels like the first one that they were actually using that grille design for. The CX-3's looks slightly too cramped, and my own CX-5's looks good with it, but not quite as fitting as the new CX-9's.

Speaking of the CX-3, there were a couple parked next to some Mazda3s on the same lot, and - at the hood area anyway - it's barely taller than the 3, though looks fresher and more aggressive, probably mostly because of the lights.
